What:
A group of parents and congregates interested in
being involved in the programs and activities provided for our children. Group
decides curriculum offerings, event dates and opportunities, plus forms a base
for volunteers.
How often:
Committee meets as needed, approximately 4 times per
year.
Sunday School: Leaders need to share prepared materials with
children for sessions lasting 4-5 weeks. Season follows regular school, Sept. to
May between services on Sunday mornings 9:30-10:30.
What:
This committee oversees the activities of the
Junior/Senior High School youth group. They
plan and publicize activities and provide support.
Any interested adult, whether you have children in the youth groups or
not, may sign up. Those who have been confirmed and college aged adults are
encouraged to volunteer for this activity.
Ideally this committee should include various age groups.
How often:
Meets twice a year.
What: A rewarding week of bible learning in which there are many areas to volunteer. We need leaders and helpers for children grouped from preschool through fifth grade, as well as nursery, snack, music, crafts and games helpers. There are also opportunities to help plan for VBS, and to decorate the church for the event.
How often: Our session is five days in the summer and runs from 9:00 a.m. until noon. This year, VBS is scheduled for the week of June 23-27. Planning begins during the months of May and June, and decorating is done sometime during the week before VBS.
What: This committee oversees the activities of our younger youth group, the Lutheran Shepherds and the Junior/Senior High School youth group. They plan and publicize activities and provide support. Any interested adult, whether you have children in the youth groups or not, may sign-up. Those that have been confirmed and college aged adults are encouraged to volunteer for this activity. Ideally this committee should include various age groups.
How often: Meets twice a year.
What:
Provides adult leadership for a youth activity.
This may include driving children or teens without a license to various
activities. Also, youth leaders
help set up, clean up, shop, take pictures, help with bulletin boards, etc.
How often:
Activities occur monthly throughout the year.
What:
Those students in junior and senior high school are
in this group. Teens get together
for fellowship, conduct mission projects, go on retreats, and have fun during
social activities. Sometimes events
are scheduled with junior high school students, and other times junior high
students participate in separate activities.
High school students should mark this group on the Adult Time and Talent
Sheet. Seventh and eighth graders
should use the Youth Time and Talent Sheet to mark this group.
How often:
Once a month.
What: High
school students and college aged young adults may choose to make use of the
fellowship room during 9:30-10:30 a.m. to grab some coffee, eat donuts, and
catch up with current events. Movies may also be shown during this time. High school students are in charge of planning this hour with
the assistance of an Adult Leader. College
aged students in town or returning from break may also choose to stop in to
chat.
How often:
Sundays during the school year.
