Acolyte – Pastor Wold, Coordinator
What: We will have a shortage of acolytes this coming year and so are asking for volunteers for this position. Duties would include lighting the candles at the beginning of the service, assisting with communion and extinguishing the candles at the end of the service.
How often: You would be scheduled with other acolytes on a rotating basis. We would honor requests for service preference (e.g. second service only).
What: Assist in creating and maintaining a climate of worship for the congregation by caring for the chancel and its furnishings, communion ware, and linens. There are two subcommittees and two sets of responsibilities working on a six-month rotation system: 1) Flower distribution; and 2) Communion preparation.
How often: Depending on the organization of each subcommittee, it is likely that each person will be called upon to serve in some capacity about once a month.
What: Adults sing on Sunday mornings, except during the summer months, alternating between first and second services and at occasional special services.
How often: Practice is on Wednesdays, September-May, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
What: Play in the Bell Choir, a multi-generational group that plays monthly during morning worship services, Sept — May.
How often: Practice is on Wednesdays, September-May, from 5:45-7:15 p.m.
What:
Provide musical worship experiences during Sunday
services, especially when the choir is not scheduled and in the summer (for
example, as prelude or during offering or leading congregational hymns and
musical liturgies).
Schedule times and practices with the choir director.
Indicate vocal and/or instrumental interest and preference for first or
second service.
Sanctuary Visual Effects – Ruth
Anderson, Kay Edlen,
Ann
Honer, Lois Johnson, Marcia Smith – Committee
What: We need more ideas and helping hands to plan and create sanctuary visual arts for all seasons of the year, especially arranging the banners in the sanctuary from week to week.
How: Work individually or with small groups of men, women, and youth to plan and schedule responsibilities and duties to accommodate personal time commitments.
Wedding Coordination Team – Candy Wolf, Coordinator
What: This person is a liaison between bridal party and church, who meets with the couple prior to the wedding, opens the church the day of the wedding, and sees to any needs of the bridal party. There is a stipend for this service paid by the bridal couple.
Assisting Ministers – Pastor Wold, Coordinator
What: Would you be interested in helping to lead the Sunday morning worship with Pastor Wold? Duties would include: wearing an alb (white robe) for worship, leading the prayers, and being the communion assistant (e.g. helping to distribute the wine/grape juice).
How often: Normally, you would be scheduled to serve no more than one (1) worship service per month. Pastor Wold will train all new volunteers.
